Traverse City-Flint Football League Constitution

Preamble

We the Members of the Traverse City-Flint Football League, in order to form a more perfect League, establish justice, insure League intranquility, provide a Special Teams/Defense, promote the use of trash-talk, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our Organizations, do ordain the Constitution for the Traverse City-Flint Football League.

Article I. – Administration

Section 1. – Administrative Team 

All legislative powers herein shall be vested in the Administrative Team, which shall consist of the Commissioner, the Assistant to the Commissioner, and the Chairman of League Morals & Ethics.

Section 2. – The Commissioner

All Commissioner powers herein shall be vested in Justin G. Thorington, which shall consist of, but are not limited to: administering the League, bringing up league matters for vote, providing Weekly Recaps, and placing Members on probation.

Section 3. – The Assistant to the Commissioner

All Assistant to the Commissioner power herein shall be vested in Dennis R. Lazar, Jr., which shall consist of, but are not limited to: assisting the Commissioner in League business, providing weekly Power Rankings, and placing Members on probation.

Article II. – Membership

Section 1. – Selection

Each Organizations shall be the judge of the election, returns and qualifications of League Members, and a majority of each shall constitute a Quorum to participate in League banter, but a smaller number may adjourn from day to day, and may be authorized to compel the attendance of absent Members, in such a manner, and under such penalties as the Commissioner may provide.

Section 2. – Criteria

There shall be 12 teams in the League.  Any individual wishing to fill a vacant spot shall, with concurrence of two-thirds, be accepted into the league as long as said individual is a native Traverse Citian or Flintite.

Section 3. – Punishment

The Commissioner, and only he, may determine the rules of League proceedings, punish Members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two-thirds, may expel a Member.

Section 4. – Dues

League Dues are required to participate in the League Draft.  Failure to pay League Dues can result in expulsion.

The Commissioner and League Members will determine league Dues annually.

Section 5. – Duties

It is the duty of each Member to field a team consisting of (1) Quarterback, (2) Wide Receivers and (3) Running Backs or (3) Wide Receivers and (2) Running Backs, (1) Tight End, (1) Kicker, (1) Defense and (6) Additional Bench Players.

It is the duty of each Member to communicate with the league in a matter that is reasonably reflects the priority of the league and commitment to non-League-related Member endeavors.

Failure to do so may result in punishment as outlined in Article II, Section 3 of this document.

Article III. – League Rules

Section 1. – Drafting

League Drafts shall happen on a yearly basis.  Draft order shall be determined randomly by Man or machine.

The draft shall occur in person or online, determined with concurrence of the majority of the Members.  Live Draft locations will be determined in the same manner.

The Draft will “Snake” from round to round.

Business attire is required for any draft or draft related activity.

Section 2. – Trades

Trades can be made between Members until November 12.

Any trade deemed belligerent can be vetoed by 6 Member votes.  The two parties involved in the trade hold no voting power.

Section 3. – Yahoo Sports

Any rules or regulations outlined by Yahoo Sports shall be adopted by the Traverse City – Flint Football League.

Article IV. – Amendment

The League Members, whenever two thirds shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Members of half plus one of the League Organizationss.

Article V. – Ratification

The Ratifications of the Conventions of eight Organizations shall be sufficient for the Establishment of this Constitution between the Organizations so ratifying the Same.

Amendment I

The Traverse City Flint Football League shall draft using the auction format. At the beginning of each season each team will have $200 in draft money unless an individual team has received or lost money (no more than $220, no less than $180) in transactions with other league members.  Full rosters must be drafted and the minimum amount per player is $1.

Amendment II

Each team is eligible to, but not required, keep up to three (3) players from their roster.  The price structure is outlined as follows:

Year 1 – draft or FAAB price + $5

Year 2 – Year 1 price + $10

Year 3 – Year 2 price + $20

Year 4 – Year 3 price + $40
